A Contact Improvisation (CI) teacher training intensive held in April 2000 with Martin Keogh in Auckland. The manual includes CI lab topics, words, images, issues, exercises, skills and photographs. It is a useful publication for practitioners and teachers. Martin Keogh (USA) has taught and performed Contact Improvisation for over 19 years. He teaches throughout the world and has co-facilitated the West Coast Contact Improvisation Teachers Conference and was the first Contact teacher on the faculty at Stanford University.
The Passage
A Mixed Ability Dance teacher training workshop series held in June/July 2000 with Catherine Chappell in Auckland. The manual includes: MA lab topics, words, phrases and issues, exercises, skills and photographs. It is a useful publication for practitioners and teachers of children, adults and for people with special needs and abilities.
Catherine Chappell has taught Mixed Ability Dance for five years and Contact Improvisation for ten years in New Zealand. In 1997, she established Touch Compass a Mixed Ability Dance Company. In 1999, Touch Compass Dance Trust was established to continue the development of MA in this country and beyond through professional performances, community shows, workshops, classes, written material.
