Where are the workshops run?
Generally they will be run in an accessible studio with a wooden floor. When we find our studio the majority of classes and rehearsals will be run there but we do go out to schools and other locations to run workshops.
We are currently looking for a venue to lease and call home as a base to run our workshops in the central or outer central rim in Auckland. That will incorporate rehearsals for the Company, community workshops, related classes and performance events. A venue that can incorporate wheelchair access and flying capabilities is what we are looking for. Watch this space for developments.
What should I wear?
Loose comfortable clothing (T-shirt, tracksuit pants, sweatshirt - please do not wear jeans or a skirt) and socks.
What can I expect to happen at the workshop?
- Participants will be lead through a variety of warm-up exercises that will warm the body and mind and also be an opportunity to get to know the other participants in class.
- Exercises will be done by yourself, with a partner and in groups. Some will be in silence, some with music or props.
- The session will build to possibly incorporate developing short phrases of movement.
- All sessions are tailor-made for the group.
Do I need to provide lunch?
Yes please bring your lunch. This gives you time to talk, network with other participants in the break. It will be stated in the brochure if lunch is provided.
Do I need to bring a support person or caregiver?
Yes, if you require a support person or caregiver in your daily life.
