Helene Burgstaller

Helene came to New Zealand 10 years ago to work as a vet. After realising that life had more to offer, she decided to study Contemporary Dance at Unitec. Since then she's been working as a freelance dancer with Waikato Contemporary Dance Projects Trust and has been involved with Touch Compass Community Class. In 2012 she obtained her Dancability Teacher Certification with Alito Alessi in Vienna. She regularly teaches dance at the University of Waikato and Hauraki Plains College. As a co-founder of Pardon Me Dance Theatre she has created several short works for Short and Sweet Dance Festival. In 2015 she established her dance school Paeroa Contemporary Dance, where she teaches children from 4 years old to adults. Having danced in the Hamilton Gardens Arts festival for the last 6 years, she recently choreographed her first full length work True Value for the festival.
